About Trinity Beach
Our "Trinity" - a very special refuge from a hectic world ...
If you ask a local, they’ll tell you this is the most beautiful
region in Australia, so it deserves Australia’s most beautiful name.
The name has evolved to describe the place where green merges into blue;
this is the only place on Earth where two World Heritage-listed entities
exist side by side – Australia’s Tropical Rainforests and
The Great Barrier Reef.
Add to the mix Australia’s premier resort town – Port Douglas
– and the oldest surviving rainforest on earth – The Daintree
– and you have the most desirable holiday destination in the country.
Coupled with an emerging tourist destination such as Trinity, with its
pioneering approach and unspoilt beaches, you really do have the winning
trifecta !
Each year, over 520,000 visitors come to the region ?to refresh, restore
and revitalise their lives in the aquamarine reef waters of the Coral
Sea, the crystal creeks of Mossman Gorge, the golden sands of Four Mile
Beach and the pleasure spas of Daintree’s eco-resorts.
While nature is the starring attraction, the region’s infrastructure
has evolved to present a world class tourism product that has taken the
fancy of world presidents (Bill Clinton has visited twice) international
celebrities and royalty who all appreciate the chance to enjoy a laid
back tropical oasis with sophisticated worldly comforts.
Port Douglas is just an hour’s drive from Cairns and is the gateway
to the area. A winning combination of a cosmopolitan township and a friendly
village, it has world class resorts and shopping, award winning restaurants
and superb galleries and craft stores. Since marine tourism was first
pioneered in the 1970’s, Port Douglas has been a popular departure
point for day and extended trips to the Great Barrier Reef. Today, it
is also the starting point for 4WD safari tours to the Daintree and Cape
Tribulation National Parks and beautiful, serene Mossman Gorge.
